About Trafalgar Studios

Farce is the word which seems to describe the past of Whitehall. The theatre seems to be associated with two people. Phyllis Dixey was a stripper at Whitehall during the war years, and her name still reminds people of this theatre. Brian Rix also has quite a history at this theatre, starring in several farces over the span of some twenty-three years. These became known as the Whitehall Farces.

For over ten years this theatre acted as a museum of the years of the war. Memorabilia from both World Wars was stored and displayed here.

When the theatre reopened as a theatre again, its comedy and farce tradition survived.

For more than two years, the Jack Docherty Show was produced in this theatre. It was a chat show. In the evening hours, live theatre was performed. 648 seats are available.
