About Prince of Wales Theatre

In 1884, the theatre was built and carried the name of Prince. Two years later, it was renamed Prince of Wales Theatre. The first Pierrot troupe in England performed in this theatre. In 1937 the theatre was demolished and replaced, with the foundation stone of the new building being laid by Gracie Fields.

From the 1950s, musical theatre has been the mainstay of Prince of Wales Theatre. Such greats as Barbra Streisand in Funny Girl, Barry Manilow's Copacabana, and Juliet Prowse in Sweet Charity have played in this great place.

Stall's Bar is located under the stalls seating area. Seating in Prince of Wales allows for 1133 patrons on two levels.
