About Fortune Theatre
A smaller theatre seating 435 people on 3 levels, Fortune Theatre was the first one to be built after World War I. It shares a corridor with the Scottish National Church. By the way, the first staged production at this theatre was a play entitled "Sinners".
The longest running production at Fortune Theatre has been "The Woman in Black". There have been several rather long-running productions at the theatre along with some with very short lives. Among hits that ran here were On Approval, At the Drop of a Hat, Beyond the Fringe, and Murder in the Vicarage.
