Their complexity, diversity and rarity have fascinated scientists and obsessed the rich. In this Old Laboratory exhibition at RHS Garden Wisley, discover beautiful botanical artworks and rare books from the RHS collections, and find out how our different perceptions of orchids - as aphrodisiacs, carnivorous predators, and mass-market commodities - have evolved over time. |

| Opening times | The Royal Horticultural Society Garden Wisley is open every day of the year except Christmas Day.
Opening hours from March to October are 10am until 6pm, Monday to Friday, and 9am until 6pm on Saturday and Sundays. Due to the shorter daylight hours, the garden opening hours from November to February are 10am until 4.30pm, Monday to Friday and 9am until 4.30pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Last entry to the garden is one hour before closing. Entry for non-members is £9.50 for adults including OAP's and £3 for children aged between 6 and 16. There is no charge for children under 6. Please note that it is advised you contact the garden direct to confirm all details before your visit. |
