York road
A64 connects York to Leeds which is to the Southwest of the city and also links the M1 motorway. A59 connects to Harrowgate to the west and the M1. Easingwold is to the Northwest and connects to the city via the A19. A64 reaches to Scarborough to the Northeast. M62 runs along the south of the city.
York - bus/coach
The chief bus operator is First York. Yorkshire Coastliner is for longer distances.
York - tram
There are no trams but a rapid transport system operated by the First Group called the FTR Bus.

Although York has an airport it is not in commercial use. The nearest airport is Manchester Airport.
