Located close to the heart of Ireland on a quiet country lane, this charming restored cottage is the ideal choice for a holiday retreat. The cottage is beautifully presented, and very well equipped. There is a paved patio area to the rear and a large garden with a stream running along the side of the property. Relax and unwind and read a book in silence in the beautifully restored sitting room on front of the peat burning stove. Breakfast and plan your days activity in the spacious cottage kitchen.
For fishing enthusiasts why not try, coarse fishing the Shannon at Lanesborough and Lough Gowna or fly fishing on Lough Owel all within 30 minutes. Belvedere House and gardens and The Historic Fore Monastic Settlement is but a short drive. For walkers there are many guided walks in the area like Derrycassan Wood walks, which is within 30minutes drive. For Golfers, Mullingar, Longford and Glassen Golf Clubs are a challange for most.
Shop and the local country pub is 2 miles away, with restaurant 3 miles. The cottage is close to the large towns of Longford and Mullingar and Athlone on the Shannon. In Athlone you can rent a Cruised for the day and explore the beauty of Lough Ree.
A day in the capital city of Dublin is a must. Take the train from the local town of Edgeworthstown. The timetable is ideal with frequent morning and evening times. This facility is ideal for a relaxing train journey. Take in the historic sights of Trinity College, Christ Church and St Patrick's Cathedral. Or indulge in a days shopping on Grafton Street and its surrounding side streets.
