Keen anglers can enjoy the abundance of wild brown trout and grayling The Elan Valley Trail is a hidden gem with surfaced paths following the route of the old railway line; ideal for walkers and cyclists with cycle hire available at the Elan Valley Visitors Centre within 1 mile of the property. Further afield is Rhayader said to be the oldest town in mid Wales and home to the Red Kite feeding station or visit Powys Castle a medieval fortress perched high on a rock above its world-famous garden terraces.
