Set on the narrowest part of the lovely Isle of Mull, Salen is a small village with a couple of hotels, a restaurant and a coffee shop. There is an agricultural show held just outside Salen each August. Outdoor pursuits in this area include mountain biking, walking, bird watching and pony trekking. Dramatic coastal scenery at Calgary Bay and the Gribun rocks make this a great base for artists or simply anyone seeking to blow the cobwebs away. The islands capital town, Tobermory, is 16 miles away, and has a choice of restaurants and other amenities.

From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain's best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.

The situation of the cottage was fantastic and it was in a quiet location with privacy. It was our first visit to Mull and we loved it. The cottage was very well equipped and comfortable.

We would like to visit the cottage again.
Miss Bruce, Sevenoaks, Kent
July 2013

,The house was great and the location and weather spectacular. But even if it had been wet then there was ample drying room, house warmth and a washer and dryer. The location to Fishnish ferry was great for a quick exit to the mainland in the morning and for exploring the whole island. Dishwasher tablets were available too and washing up liquid, both of which we forgot!
Miss Kenny, Watford, Hertfordshire
March 2013

,Great location, very comfortable and would stay in again.
Mrs Wilson-Green, Maidstone, Kent
August 2012
