This historic town is situated on the north Solway Shore on the banks of the tidal waters of the River Dee. Kirkudbright's harbour is still active today, and the fishing trade has always supported the town. The picturesque town centre is characterised by wide streets and pretty pastel coloured houses, as well as the fascinating ruined McLellan's Castle. Historical attractions worth a visit include the Stewartry Museum and its permanent exhibition of objects representing the history of life on the Solway coast. Known as the artists' town since the late nineteenth century and a wonderful selection of art galleries, crafts, and antique shops still thrive here today.

From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain's best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.

Loved how clean the house was and condition of the home. Beautiful, we had a fantastic time and were very comfortable.
Mrs Greene, Whitehouse,
May 2013

,The house was in the town and convenient for everything. As the house was on 3 levels it let the whole family (4 adults & 4 children) find space when they needed it.
Mr Scott, Hamilton, South Lanarkshire
March 2012

,Love Scotland and the village was very friendly and was excellent for shopping. House was ideally situated.
Mrs Horner, Heckmondwike, West Yorkshire
July 2011

,The property was superb; very homely with a lot of nice touches. Local amenities were also good. The house reflected Kirkcudbright which is noticeably very clean and that is important. We did not manage to cover all we meant to do which means we will have to return sometime in the future - great.
Mr Jones, Sale, Greater Manchester
August 2010
