Listowel has a long literary tradition, its most noted son being John B Keane, and every September there is a popular literary festival. Here in North Kerry you are ideally placed for day trips to Clare and Limerick. The Tarbert/Killimer ferry which crosses the Shannon is a mere 15km away. Nearby is Ballybunnion, a lively seaside resort with excellent sandy surf Beach in addition to Bill Clinton's favourite golf links course.
