Head north on the Trent and Mersey and you will come to the Caldon Canal where you can cruise through to Froghall and spend a day being thrilled at Alton Towers Theme Park, just 15 minutes by bus. As well as access to the four major ‘Rings’ the area abounds with stately homes, castles, gardens and pretty villages – the perfect respite after a hard day cruising.
