Wakefield Museum

The Museum re-opened in 2000, after a major refurbishment and redisplay of exhibits. It now provides a fully interactive experience, such as constructing a Roman pot or trying your hand at knitting. In the Charles Waterton Gallery you can experience the 'feely' tree, walk through a rain forest - and even play on a space invaders machine. There are videos, including a personal view by Sir David Attenborough, and Wakefield in the 1920s. We also have a computer featuring over 8,000 photographs of the Wakefield District.
