Museums of The Royal College of Surgeons of England
The four museums of the Royal College of Surgeons are the Hunterian, the Odontological and the Wellcome Museums of Pathology and Anatomy. The Hunterian museum contains about 3,500 surviving specimens from John Hunter's 18th century collection of anatomical and pathological preparations both human and animal. Three paintings from George Stubbs are also on display. The Odontological Museum is a museum about teeth, it has displays on dental anatomy, instruments and dentures. The Wellcome Museums of Pathology and Anatomy contain over 2,300 specimens dating from the 19th century to the present day. There is also an Historical Instrument Collection of Surgical Instruments.
