An early satire of the Women's Rights movement, this opera is full of wit, humour and wonderful music.Prince Hilarion is in love with King Gama's daughter, Princess Ida. But she is preoccupied by her ideals as head of a women's college which endeavours to educate women to be the ruling sex.
