Jerry Springer - The Opera - Show Information
Triumph, tragedy and trailer trash as high culture meets low culture.Jerry Springer - The Opera is a new opera based on America's most lurid talk show and the US host who brought worldwide television audiences programmes entitled: "Pregnant by a Transsexual," "Here Come the Hookers," and "I Refuse to Wear Clothes". As Richard Thomas (author of show) said of the television show: "It's got tragedy. It's got violence. There are people screaming at each other and you can't understand what they're saying. It's perfect for opera."
Jerry Springer - The Opera combines the musical, comedy and opera genres. It's got tragedy, it's got violence and it's got people screaming at each other. Come and witness America's favourite talk show host suffer the worst day of his career.
Jerry Springer himself claims 'I only wish I'd thought of it first'.
