Bombay Dreams - Show Information

A tale of rags-to-riches, love found and lost and hopefully won again, of friends and foes and of love and loyalty.

The story of Bombay Dreams is one of universal themes, dreams and ambitions, the desire to accomplish and the importance of culture and roots. And at its heart it is a love story set against the backdrop of the colourful and magical Indian movie industry Bollywood - in Bombay, a city of stark contrasts where romantic fantasy and harsh reality live side by side.

Akaash, a young slum dweller, dreams of becoming a huge movie star. He has a fateful encounter with the beautiful Priya and through her meets Madan, Priya's father, who is an underhanded but incredibly powerful movie magnate. Akaash begins the winding road leading to his destiny and realises his dream of movie stardom, but soon discovers that he misses those he grew up with. He feels as if his roots and identity have been lost and therefore struggles to keep the love alive between the two very different worlds that have collided.

Will they find, like in all the best Bollywood movies, their happy ending? Will Akaash and Priya's love survive?

Bombay Dreams combines the glamour of the movies, heart-aching romance and epic spectacle. Bombay Dreams is a unique fusion of talent from the worlds of stage, film, TV and contemporary music. Add to this lush production design and spectacular choreography and the result is both breathtaking and totally unmissable.
