Asking Good Questions
You main objective is to find the strongest candidate for the job. Therefore, questions should seek examples of initiative, motivation, attitude, etc.
- Initiative
- What are you most proud of?
- What did you dislike about your job and what did you do to change it?
- Motivation
- What are your career goals for the next five years?
- Do you intend to continue your education?
- Attitude
- What job values are important to you?
- How do you cope with very routine work?
- Management
- How have you dealt with a confrontation with a difficult employee?
- How would you describe your management style?
Interviewing is very subjective. Judgement of the talents and ability of a person can depend on personal chemistry between interviewer and candidate; interviewers must be aware of this. You must ask all candidates the same questions.
