The Royal Hotel is a family run public house in the village of Dungworth. Set on the edge of the Peak District high on the moors northwest of Sheffield but only a 20-minute drive from the centre of the city and Meadow Hall shopping centre. Its location makes it the ideal place for people visiting the area or for those that want to stay longer but not wanting to stay in the hustle bustle of a city. Those of you wanting to come to the area on Business it is Affordable luxury with the added bonus of a real ale pub on the doorstep, what more do you want. Now with Free WiFi. The Royal Hotel was built around 1813 and retains much of its original character. Split into 3 areas. There is the snug which over looks the beautiful countryside and has views over Sheffield and on a good day you can see far and beyond. The lounge at the front of the pub which is spacious. The Family room also at the front of the pub is a separate room, ideal with toys and games are also provided. Come and relax in the comfortable surroundings, have a quality drink with friends and enjoy the quality home made food, which is cooked by David and Joanne. Try one of the many home made pies, known the world over. The Accomodation is located at the rear of the property, within the carpark area. 3 chalets, in their own annex over looking the wonderful countryside. All ground floor. Each room has ensuite shower room, with Body shop products. Centrally heated and double glazed, Remote Control Television, Hairdryer Iron with Ironing board and Tea/Coffee making facilities, free WiFi. Available on request, Trouser Press, Early morning call, Fresh Milk. The next morning, wake up to a Royal English Breakfast fit for a King or Queen. On arrival select from a range of items then hand the form in at the bar. If you can't decide before hand no problem. We do try and source our food as locally as possible. Meat, eggs, milk, Honey and Jams are all from around the Dungworth Area. Orange juice Cereals Porridge Kippers Bacon, Sausage, Egg, Hash Browns, Mushrooms, Tomatoes, Beans, Fried Bread and Bread and Butter Toast, Jam and Honey Tea and Coffee There are plenty of attractions locally, walking from novice to experienced hikers/ramblers for the more energetic, fishing from flay fishing at Ladybower Reservoir a 15 minute drive away and course fishing at Dam Flask on the doorstep. Also close by is clay pigeon shooting, golfing and horse riding (all by arrangement). If you are more into relaxing with a drink then come along and just enjoy the views. During the summer there is the local cricket team at Low Bradfield or visit the historic Bradfield Church at High Bradfield.

Please note that in late 2007 the road system in Sheffield was redeveloped. Make sure that you have downloaded the latest map updates for your satellite navigation system before you travel. FROM M1 (NORTHBOUND) - Leave the M1 at Junction 33 and head into Sheffield on the Sheffield Parkway dual carriageway A630/A57/A61. Shortly after entering the 40mph zone get into the middle lane ready to turn right onto the Ring Road at junction 1 - Cutler's Gate. Continue along the Ring Road following signs for 'Barnsley A61N'. keep in the inside lane all the way on the A61N, after a couple of miles and through quite a number of traffic lights you will see B&Q, turn immediate left. At the small roundabout take the 1st exit onto bradfield road. get into the outside lane, go straight across at the traffic lights onto holme lane. When you enter the one way system at malin bridge take the 3rd exit (by the yew tree pub) onto loxley road B6077. Continue along the B6077 for a couple of miles heading towards Bradfield. You will pass the Wisewood pub on your left and the Admiral rodney pub on your right. When you pass the Nags head pub on your left, take the next left exit across the bridge at at dam flask, follow the dam round and take the next left (a very concealed hairpin bend signposted Dungworth). Carry on up the hill into the village, the Royal Hotel is on your left. FROM M1 (SOUTHBOUND) - Leave the M1 at Junction 36. Take the A61 into sheffield (Halifax Road) at the round about take the 2nd exit onto the dual carriage way (Penistone Road). When you pass the sheffield wednesday football ground on your right get into the right hand lane. Take the first right off the dual carriageway (you will see the KFC ahead of you). Keep in the right hand lane and take the 2nd exit at the roundabout onto Bradfield Road. get into the outside lane, go straight across at the traffic lights onto holme lane. FROM MANCHESTER OVER THE SNAKE PASS A57 - after passing the ladybower Reservoir take the 2nd left (Riggs Road) continue on the Riggs Road taking your 1st left (sign posted Load Brook / Dungworth) next take your 1st left onto Syke House Lane. At the junction turn left. the Royal Hotel is on the Right Hand side directly after a small row of cottages.
