UK Antiques and Collectors Fairs

Olympia International Art & Antiques Fair offers a totally delightful experience to the discerning visitor as well as to a curious enthusiast. On show are exhibits from 250 prominent art galleries from UK and all over the world attracting curators, interior designers and art devotees. A visitor can find old oak Elizabethan carved wood beds, Regency mahogany bookcases and Anglo-Indian colonial pieces. 18th century English and Continental furniture and Russian furniture from the Golden Period of 1780-1840 are also some of the surprises which enchant the art lover.

Most of the art works are datelined, and the authenticity is assured as each of the exhibits is vetted by a committee as per the fair guidelines. The vetting process is carried out each day by a team of about two hundred experts from the UK, Europe and the USA, and the sold stocks are replaced by the freshly vetted art works.

The elegant ambience and spacious layout added to the vast choice and quality of exhibitors make the Fair attractive. Informative events within the fair are also an engaging attraction. In the 2008 fair, Batoni Appeal, a public appeal to save Pompeo Batoni's Portrait of John Rolle Walter, attracted many. Also in the 2008 year's fair schedule were classic workshops like Diamond Lunch and a course by Sotheby's Institute course, which offered a limited audience intensive tutoring by experts in the field on decorative arts and furniture and a chance to handle examples of antique and contemporary jewellery and exquisite works of art.
