With Creative Scotlands continued financial support, SBT have helped over 100 writers reach an exciting new stage in their career.Join us as we celebrate withprevious awardeesCiara MacLaverty, Kirstin Innes and Juliette Forrest for a reading, discussion and QA.Chaired by Julie Martis.For more info on the awards: https://bit.ly/2SgmoWMCiara MacLavertyis 'a born enthusiast' according to the Times Literary Supplement. Her 'striking' poetry has appeared widely in both newspapers and literary magazines. She's been selected for 'Scottish Poem of the Year' and written for Scottish Opera and Edinburgh Book Festival.Her pamphlet,'Past Love in The Museum of Transport'explores everyday love from girlhood to motherhood.Kirstin Innes is an award-winning novelist and journalist based in Renfrewshire. Her first novel, Fishnet, won The Guardians Not The Booker prize in 2015. Her second, Scabby Queen, will be published by 4th Estate in spring 2020. Kirstin was one of the first winners of theSBT New Writers Award in 2008, and she has had short fiction commissioned by McSweeneys, Edinburgh International Book Festival and BBC Radio 4. Her journalism has been published in The Independent, The Pool, The Herald, The Scotsman and Scotland on Sunday. She won the Allen Wright Award for Arts Journalism in both 2007 and 2011.Juliette Forrestwas a 2014New Writer Awardee. Her first childrens book, Twister, was published by Scholastic in February 2018 andwas a Sunday Times Book of the Week and The Guardians one must-read childrens novel of last summer. Itwon theCalderdale Book of the Year in 2019.
