The areas of Southsea and Portsmouth overlap and the city centres are within 1 mile of each other. M27 bypasses Southsea from the north. It runs towards Southampton in the north-east, whilst A27 links the resort to Chichester in the west.
First Hampshire and Dorset, National Express, Stagecoach Coastline/ Hastings, Pats Coaches of New Broughton, Solent Blue Line and Tellings-Golden Miller of Chertsey are some other bus and coach operators.
Southampton Eastleigh International Airport is about 20 miles north-west of the town, accessible via B2151/M275/M21.
