Transport
A159 is the road linking the town to south which further down connects to A156 and A57 and connects to Lincoln. Motorway M180 runs east to west of the town. It connects to Doncaster in the west and along with A180 links to Grimsby in the east.

Humberside airport is about 15miles from Scunthorpe and can be reached by travelling along the M180.
The nearest ferry port is Kingston upon Hull Ferry Port (27 miles) which is accessible from Scunthorpe by way of roads M180, A15 and A63 and by travelling eastwards. P&O Ferries operates crossings namely Hull- Zeebrugge and Hull - Rotterdam.
