Transport
Belfast lies about 8 miles down south via M2. Newtownabbey is ideally located for travelling within Northern Ireland, with M2 and A6 running towards Londonderry and the Causeway Coast in the north-west. The M1 motorway goes south to Dublin, in the Republic of Ireland. Also, the scenic routes from Newtownabbey to the famous Glens of Antrim are alluring to the tourists.

Belfast Ferry Port is about 7 miles south of the town via A8 and A6, whilst Larne Ferry Port is about 15.5 miles north-east. The ferry services Norfolkline and Stenaline operate from the Port of Belfast to Stranraer, Heysham and Liverpool. P&O Ferries and Stena Line are the operators which offer daily crossings to Cairnyan, Troon and Fleetwood.
