A8 is to the north west of Edinburgh. Where as someone coming from the north east can enter by the A900 and A1 which comes from London, while to the south are A700 and A7. Edinburgh connects Renfrewshire and Glasgow with the M8 motorway. Stirling and Edinburgh are connected via the M9 motorway.
Lothian Buses and First Bus are the main bus operators whose buses connect most parts of the city, suburbs and surrounding city region. The other bus operators are Caledonian Travel, Munro of Jedburgh, National Express, Prestige Tours, Rennies of Dumfermline, R J Perryman, Silver Choice, Scottish Citylink, Stagecoach Fife, Urguhart Travel and Wallace Arnold Travels.
