Belfast Ferry Port is about 47 miles towards the southeast from the town. Ferry crossings from Belfast to Stranraer are operated by Stena Line, to Liverpool Birkenhead by Norfolkline Irish Sea and to Douglas by Steam Packet. Larne, which is about 49 miles, serves the crossings to Fleetwood with Stena Line, as well as to Cairnryan and Troon with P&O Irish Sea Ferries.
