Set on 20 acres of farmland in the rolling Exmoor countryside, The Farthingwood Barn at North Wheddon Farm is a spacious barn conversion sleeping 6. Sympathetically converted and furnished in rustic country style to ensure a comfortable and relaxing holiday, the house has everything needed for a home from home feeling.
Having admired the stunning scenery, enter Farthingwood Barn and relax. The living room has comfortable sofas that are ideal for lounging on after a day out exploring all that Exmoor and Devon has to offer. The large, well equipped kitchen/dining room is perfect for creating hearty breakfasts before taking a walk around the spacious grounds or for making plans for the next days fun activities.
The ground floor also has a bedroom that can be made up as a twin or a super king and adjacent to a bathroom with shower and toilet.
The Farthingwood Barn is an L-shaped barn and upstairs, at either end of the barn are two further bedrooms, a master double bedroom with ensuite and a larger double that again can be either a twin or super king size.
At the rear of the property is a garden with gate access to the lower paddock, take a leisurely stroll through the farm, admiring the views or stopping to feed the farm animals, ducks and free range chickens.
The Farthingwood Barn, and North Wheddon Farm, are an ideal base from which to explore the local Devon area. With stunning views across rolling countryside, it may be hard to tear yourself away and take time to visit all that this lovely part of the country has to offer.
Make the short journey to Dunster and walk through the beautiful, medieval village. Stroll through grounds at Dunster Castle admiring the views of the Quantock hills and across the moors of Exmoor.
Travel a little further afield to Minehead with its promenade and long, sandy beach, and pebble beach near the harbour, which stretches for a mile and gives views across the Bristol Channel to Wales.
The South West Coast Path begins on the quayside in Minehead and winds its way around the coastline to Poole in Dorset: the start is marked by a huge sculpture of a pair of hands holding a map.Take a walk up The Parade to admire the vibrant floral displays and sample the cafes, pubs and restaurants.
Exmoor National Park provides endless opportunities for walkers and Farthingwood Barn provides an ideal base for enjoying all it has to offer. Dunkery Beacon is nearby and is the highest point in the park and the Brendon Hills sit to the east and are one of the parks quieter hidden gems.
