FCH48940,Burford Information
Swinbrook is a very pretty village in the Cotswolds with lovely period cottages a popular 16th century pub with a great menu and bar - serving real ale and walks beside the Windrush including one walk to Burford perfect for dog walkers. The village is also known for its association with Love in a Cold Climate authoress Nancy Mitford and her famous family who are buried in the churchyard. Lord Redesdale their father lived in Swinbrook House and built the nearby Georgian vicarage. To complete the picture watch some local cricket on the green. What more could you ask for from an English country cottage? Evoking the country manor-style with its vaulted ceiling the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner will immediately impress as you enter. The lounge area has ample comfy seating an open fire place (with starter park of logs) a dining table with seating for up to six diners a TV/DVD with a hi-fi. The kitchen area is well-equipped with an electric oven and hob a fridge a freezer and a dishwasher. Upstairs is a landing/bedroom area with two single beds. The landing is open to the staircase so the property is unsuitable for children under 7 years old. Through one of the doors is a large bedroom with king-size bed a Jack and Jill bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC. Outside this property has its own secluded gravelled courtyard within the extensive grounds of The Old Vicarage with views across to the pretty 13th century Swinbrook church.
