The property is situated in the pretty village of Burwash famed for its associations with Rudyard Kipling. Batemans the home where Kipling wrote The Jungle Book is just half a mile outside the main village and is a popular National Trust property. Less than a 30-minute drive away is another important historic site the 14th century Bodiam Castle. The village of Burwash itself is small yet well-appointed with a choice of pubs and quaint tearooms ideal for when you don t fancy cooking. The entrance to the cottage leads you into the lounge and dining area. The accommodation is cosy with many original features and exposed beams. The lounge area has a three seater comfy sofa and a club chair wood burner (logs included) and TV. The dining table and four chairs is situated by the window perfect for watching the world go by. A door leads through to the well-appointed kitchen which has an electric range oven and hob fridge freezer and dishwasher. The downstairs shower room has a large walk-in shower WC and a built-in cupboard housing the washer/dryer. Stairs from the kitchen lead upstairs to the landing area with its quirky sloping roof. A door leads into a sumptuous bedroom with a king-size bed and a large walk in cupboard with hanging rail. There are bedside tables and lamps and a beautiful painted vintage mirror. The en-suite bathroom has a shower over the bath perfect for a long soak. The second bedroom has a double bed with bedside tables and lamps and a traditional pine wardrobe.
