St Teresas Cottage
St Teresas is a beautiful cottage with a rich history. Situated on the Grade 1 listed Lanherne Convent estate, the property dates back to the late 1800s. The cottage has been completely refurbished to a high standard, retaining its original character and adding the benefits of a well-equipped kitchen and two log burners. Externally the cottage offers two beautiful secluded gardens, bordered by a Grade 2 listed wall covered in wisteria, the perfect place to relax and dine al fresco. The nearby convent was originally the manor house of the Arundell family, once the most wealthy and influential family in Cornwall, it was a gift to the Carmelite nuns in 1794. Today the convent is home to the St Joseph and St Anne Roman Catholic Church and the Franciscan Friars and Sisters of the Immaculate. The estate is located in the picturesque village of St. Mawgan. The village centre is only a short walk away and boasts a well known pub with restaurant and lovely beer garden. There is also a village shop and tea room offering gorgeous freshly made snacks. There is even a picturesque Japanese garden and Bonzai tree nursery, well worth a visit. St Teresas is only a 5 minute drive from two stunning beaches, Mawgan Porth and Watergate Bay. Mawgan Porth is a family friendly beach complete with rock pools to explore. Whilst Watergate Bay boasts some of the best watersports in the region and is home to the Jamie Oliver inspired Fifteen restaurant. There are many beautiful walks available in the surrounding area, a must visit would be the stunning Bedruthan Steps, an area of outstanding natural beauty.
