Lying down a sleepy country lane, these stone-built cottages were converted from farm barns and have been tastefully and thoughtfully furnished giving the perfect base that’s both relaxing and ideal for exploring the diverse attractions this region has to offer. Only 20 minutes from the many attractions of Newcastle and Gateshead - home to the Sage music venue, Baltic contemporary art gallery and excellent shopping. The renowned Beamish Open Air Museum that vividly recreates life in the North of England in the late 1800s and early 1900s is just 3 miles away and is an essential day out. The historic city of Durham, with its magnificent cathedral, which is regarded as the finest Norman building in Europe, is a mere 10 miles away. Durham is one the most beautiful cities in England, with sp
ectacular architecture, tree-lined river bank walks and winding streets. Durham Cricket ground, which hosts many international matches is just 10 minutes away.
