A superb location for a relaxing break, tucked away with undulating countryside views, this pair of cottages, one with a walled courtyard and the other enjoying a private seating area, have been lovingly converted from former barns. They stand in the grounds of the owners’ home and the site of the Augustinian Pentney Abbey (with its 12th century gatehouse). This makes a lovely setting for a wedding, and the owners hold a wedding licence for the abbey. Surrounded by quiet country lanes, the cottages make an ideal holiday base for nature lovers, walkers and cycling enthusiasts. Fishing can be enjoyed from the River Nar, which runs through the grounds. Visitors have the added benefit of a shared hot tub and fire pit. Golf and horse-riding are available nearby and a great array of attractions lie within an easy drive. The gorgeous sandy beaches at Holkham and Wells-next-the-Sea are justifiably famous, and at Hunstanton, a Victorian seaside resort with a beach, famous striped cliffs and fine formal garden
