Wheelhouse Family Cottage, Barton , Yorkshire Dales (Ref 21956), The,Richmond Information
The Wheelhouse is a semi-detached conversion of a wheelhouse, by a beck in the village of Barton. The cottage has plenty of character, including a 'secret window' in the first floor king-size double room, which overlooks the living area below. There is a ground floor super king-size double with en-suite WC, and a ground floor bathroom, along with the welcoming open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area with double sofa bed and woodburning stove. Outside the cottage parking can be found on the roadside, the village green is on the doorstep and the shop and pub are just a moment or two away. The Wheelhouse makes a welcoming base for enjoying the northern Dales, including Durham, Richmond, Barnard Castle, the Teesdale Way and more.

Barton is an attractive village in the northern Dales, with a village green, river, shop and pub. Barton is close to the town of Richmond, as well as within easy reach of Barnard Castle, the Teesdale Way, Raby Castle, High Force Falls and more. An ideal touring base.

From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?

The quirky shape of The Wheelhouse was lovely, and the cottage has been renovated to a very high standard. The owners were very helpful and quick to address any difficulties. It is a well placed cottage for exploring the surrounding area. We would recommend The Half Moon pub in Barton, for it's welcoming atmosphere and open fire!
Mr Williams, Croydon,
October 2013

,We enjoyed our week in the cottage, it was warm, comfortable and clean. Plenty of places to visit Durham Castle etc., and Richmond Castle and town was a must to visit. We ventured to one of the local pubs King William the IV, all home cooked food. The staff and public were just amazing at making us feel so welcome. Did enjoy the cottage, it was well converted.
Mr Shaw, Manchester, Greater Manchester
September 2013

,The owners have done an outstanding job of converting an historic building into a very comfortable and visually charming cottage. The central location was ideal for walks in the surrounding countryside. Barton Village has a well stocked store, and the King William IV Pub has an excellent menu (especially the Tea menu) and great ale.
Mr Forrester, Lakefield, Ontario
September 2013

,Everything you needed to know about the cottage was there in a very comprehensive folder. The location was brilliant very quiet and easy to reach just off the M1, but far enough away not to cause a problem with noise. The village shop was just around the corner for anything missed that could not wait until a trip to a bigger shop. I highly recommend this property.
Ms Cottam, Wallington,
August 2013
