Acklington is a village located just a few miles from the coast and its near neighbour Warkworth. The River Coquet meanders past the village, with a view from Guyzance Bridge. There is a limited bus and train service to Alnwick, Newcastle and Alnmouth, and the whole of the coast is within easy driving distance. Warkworth, 4 miles away, is a pretty village, dominated by the dramatic ruins of its 12th Century castle. The main street is lined with Georgian and early Victorian houses and there is an exceptional range of galleries and antique shops, a village shop-cum-post office, pubs, restaurants and gift shops to suit all tastes. Warkworth has its own stretch of sandy beach and a 9-hole 'pay and play' golf course. Also within easy touring distance are Hadrian's Wall, Bamburgh Castle, Holy Island, the Farne Islands, several wonderful beaches and Alnwick Garden with its remarkable water cascade.

Northumberland is a heady combination of fishing villages, market towns, sandy beaches, magnificent castles and historic Hadrian's Wall, tied together by beautiful countryside and abundant wildlife.

Lovely cottage, and a very warm welcome from the owner. Log burner already alight which made the cottage feel really cosy. We had a great week, lots of places to visit, would recommend the cottage to people we know, would visit again. I would recommend The Railway Inn for food, great Sunday lunch.
Mr Humphries, Lincoln, Lincolnshire
October 2013

,We loved the four poster bed and the fact that it was on a camp-site so we can meet lots of new people.
Mrs Loughlin, Glasgow, Lanarkshire
July 2013

,First time we have stayed in this cottage, and all the amenities were to a high quality standard. Owners very helpful and knowledgeable and the staff in the pub are the same, a really friendly, homely feel to everything, food in the pub also excellent. Excellent, quiet location with all places of interest within easy driving distance.
Mr Garside, Sheffield, South Yorkshire
July 2013

,Lots of places to visit in the area and a bit further afield. Very friendly helpful people. Cosy spacious cottage.
