The old market town of Kirkbymoorside is situated on the edge of The North Yorks Moors National Park between the towns of Pickering and Helmsley. It is a delightful town and the heart of the community for local farms and outlying villages. Visitors to the town are well catered for with tea-rooms, public houses, restaurants and antique shops, Wednesday is market day and locals and visitors alike can enjoy the bustling atmosphere. Hutton-le-Hole and Lastingham are picturesque villages nearby and have some interesting attractions worth visiting. Pickering is the home of the North York Moors Steam Railway and is a ‘must do' day out for all visitors. Kirkbymoorside makes a superb base to see the variety of attractions this stunning area has to offer.

The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.

Lovely property, in nice quiet location. Especially like the private enclosed garden.
Mr Holman, Wakefield, West Yorkshire
August 2013

,The barn was perfect for myself, husband and 4 year old daughter. So peaceful and out of the way but within easy reach of everywhere! Fantastic setting with everything you'd want from a break away and more! Owner of the property always on hand and the homemade cake was delicious!
Mrs Thornton, Norwich, Norfolk
June 2013

,The cottage was excellent, the enclosed garden for the dogs was really good. The underfloor heating was gorgeous! The bed was so very comfortable, a very well thought out cottage and facilities and the owners very friendly and helpful.
Mrs Fitzpatrick, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk
March 2013

,We had a really lovely welcome from the owners. It felt like a home from home and we were left alone to enjoy our short break. I would strongly recommend Grouse Cottage to anyone for either a short or long break.
Mrs Bass, Ryton, Tyne and Wear
March 2013
