Strawberry Special trains ferried the fruits to all parts of the country until the line was axed in 1965. Strawberries are still grown there today and when in season are available to buy from stalls on the roadside between Cheddar Draycott Rodney Stoke and Westbury-sub-Mendip. The line is now a long distance footpath. Today the village and gorge provide shopping and leisure opportunities for all ages.
