Poole famed for its suburb of Sandbanks with its golden beach a playground for the rich and famous and the home of the world renowned super yacht builder Sun Seeker is just 10 miles. There are many National Trust properties and gardens worth visiting including Kingston Lacy Corfe Castle and Hardy s Cottage.
