Cider Cellar, The
Knoll Farm Cottages comprise three barn conversions set in a courtyard with southerly views over historic Brent Knoll.
The Cider Cellar has been converted from an old wooden beamed cow stall. It was subsequently used as a Cider Cellar, storing cider in oak barrels. Cider was made at Knoll Farm until 1950. The apply orchards still produce an abundance of fruit which is picked up by hand and made into cider on another local farm.
The Cider Cellar has retained old oak beams which interestingly dissect rooms below the ceiling. The cottage benefits from gas central heating and double glazing throughout.
The property offers 1 twin or double bedded room, a shower room with wc, a living/dining room and a fully equipped kitchen.
Cot, high chair or additional bedspaces available " please request when making reservation. The twin beds can be made into a king size bed upon request. Please ask us when making your reservation.
The Cider Cellar opens onto a shared courtyard with The Stables where bistro table and chairs offer a great outdoor space. The courtyard is south facing and a real suntrap all day.
In addition to the courtyard area the cottage has access to two shared gardens.
The Old Walled Kitchen Garden has been converted to a shared landscaped garden with large patio and BBQ.
The Orchard Garden extends from The Old Kitchen Garden, previously an cider apple orchard, and still retaining many of the old apple trees. Here guests can find a selection of garden games including croquet and tradition Somerset skittles as well as a selection of games for children. The Orchard Garden also enjoys unhindered views over Brent Knoll.
Knoll Farm Cottages provide an ideal Somerset Tourist base. Knoll Farm is but a short distance from seven miles of Sandy beaches from Burnham on Sea to Brean Down and also close to the town of Cheddar with its famous caves and gorge.
Close to Knoll Farm are many visitor attractions for all the family. If you are interested in Stately Homes and Castles or Museums; if your family enjoy a day at an adventure park or at the Zoo - there is so much to do close to Knoll Farm, one visit will not be enough!!
