Churchways Cottage, partially thatched and with roses growing over the door, is at the end of a quiet lane leading to St James' church in the pretty South Hams village of Slapton.  Originally two cottages, it retains its character and 18th century charm, offering comfortable accommodation with a delightful kitchen-diner and a traditionally furnished sitting-room, complete with beams and a large inglenook fireplace.  Double French doors, lead out on to the sheltered, private terrace and large cottage garden - the perfect venue for alfresco dining or relaxing in the sun

The popular village of Slapton is known for its abundance of traditional cottages, has a couple of excellent pubs serving delicious food and is a short drive or pleasant walk from the shingle beach and Slapton Ley nature reserve.  This quiet retreat is ideally located providing a perfect base for exploring this beautiful area including the nearby sandy beaches of Blackpool sands, the historic naval port of Dartmouth the market town of Totnes, Dartmoor National Park or enjoying some spectacular walks along the South West Coastal Path. The picturesque towns of Salcombe and Kingsbridge are also within easy reach by car.

 Accommodation: 

Door from Church Lane to kitchen/diner.  Modern shaker style kitchen with butler sink, electric hob, Electric oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine.  Breakfast bar with three stools separates the kitchen from the dining area with pine table and chairs to seat 6.  Double French doors to patio and garden.  Spacious sitting room with sofa and armchair, LCD TV and DVD and dresser full of games, books and DVD's.  Open stairs to upper door and landing.  Master bedroom with exposed beams, 5ft double bed, single fitted wardrobe and chest of drawers.  Large family bathroom with bath, shower over, hand basin, WC and heated towel rail.  Twin bedroom with 3ft single bed, pull out 3ft single bed, (will be made up if required) and wardrobe.  Single bedroom with 3ft single bed.

Outside:  Sunny terrace equipped with garden table, bench and chairs and sunshade.  Cottage garden with lawn and steps up to another sheltered lawn adjacent to the church.

Parking: On road parking generally available at end of land and in the village.

Please note: Maximum of 4 adults only.

• Included: Bed linen, towels (guests must provide their own beach towels), electricity, heating, travel cot and high chair by arrangement. (Stair gate not necessary as there is a door at the top of the stairs).
