Outstanding is the word for this magnificent property, a 14th Century tithe barn for Modbury Church with an adjacent smaller barn both converted to the highest standard. Within the mellow ancient walls the light, spacious living areas have large windows that overlook the low walled gardens with meadows and hills beyond. The beautifully finished kitchens and bathrooms, fine oak and slate floors, slate window sills, gothic style wall lamps and bedsteads and handsome comfortable furniture combine to make these exceptional properties. Situated on the outskirts of the charming town of Modbury with its dignified terraced houses and enticing old fashioned shop windows that give it a timeless character. This little town is a hive of activity and is readily accessible to wonderful beaches at Wonwell, Mothecombe and Bigbury, and only half an hour from Dartmoor or the historic city of Plymouth. Garden furniture and barbecues are supplied. The barns are located at the end of a quiet unmade road.

Large glazed doors open into a very spacious entrance hall with Pool table. French doors lead out to the patio and garden. Oak stairs wind up to superb sitting room, part galleried with fine exposed A frames and ceiling trusses. Huge comfortable sofas gather around the corner woodburner. Large 32” TV/DVD/video and French doors that open to a railed balcony with views across the garden and rolling hills beyond. With access from the driveway the spacious and superbly fitted kitchen/diner has a marble top central island, a magnificent four oven gas Aga, microwave and built-in belfast sink, fridge and dishwasher. A large dining table seats up to 10 (for combined parties of up to 16 there is an extra table and chairs). The utility room off the kitchen has a washing machine, tumble dryer and large fridge/freezer. Stairs up from the sitting room to 3 bedrooms, a double room with 4ft 6in bed with tiled en-suite shower room with corner shower, basin and WC, 2 twin bedrooms with 3ft beds both with hanging rails and a family bathroom with free standing bath, hand held shower attachment, separate shower, basin and WC. Further double room and cloakroom with WC and basin on the kitchen level. Door to courtyard. Off the hallway is another double bedroom with stone mullion windows and en-suite shower room with corner shower, basin and WC.

Old Traine Barn has an extensive paved patio area, raised beds and lawns surrounded by a low stone wall and with access to a public footpath across the fields.
