Welcome to a comfortable, spacious detached cottage with wonderful views over the village and out to sea, complete with a sunny, private garden in which to relax, as well as its own parking space. All this is unusual in Polperro, a traditional fishing village where quaint fishermans’ cottages crowd around the harbour, evoking the mood of a bygone age, so at South Sea Cottage you get the best of both worlds. Situated on the hill, it is a climb to get to the property, but the effort is well worthwhile, as this pretty location will soon lull you into a relaxed frame of mind. The cottage itself has been lovingly and sympathetically refurbished with wooden floorboards, wooden latched doors, a light and airy lounge with woodburner stove and spacious kitchen diner. There is a delightful master bedroom with those amazing views to enjoy along with your early morning cup of tea as well as two further bedrooms. We can’t imagine a better place to be on a calm summer evening than on the patio, watching the sun set behind the village and enjoying an aperitif whilst tending the barbecue. Polperro provides plenty in the way of distractions, having several traditional inns, restaurants and shops and the nearby port of Looe also provides many of the traditional seaside entertainments. For the more energetic the beautiful South West Coastal path winds around the rugged coastline close to the cottage and popular Talland beach is a five minute drive or a short walk away. Polperro is also a great base from which to explore the many attractions of this Celtic County, with its proud seafaring traditions.

Accommodation:

Steps and slopes lead up from the village to the garden and patio surrounding South Sea Cottage. Shaker style kitchen/diner with wonderful sea views, Belfast sink, ceramic hob, eye level double oven, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave and dining table to seat 6. Stable door to rear. Lounge with fantastic harbour and sea views, woodburner stove, three seater sofa, two seater sofa and a flat screen TV with DVD. Shower room with electric shower, hand basin and heated towel rail. Double bedroom off the lounge with 4ft 6in double bed. Stairs up to first floor. Generous master double bedroom with amazing views, 5ft king size pine bedstead decorated with wrought iron features, pine dressing table and multi drawer chest. Twin bedroom with two 3ft single beds, again with views. Family bathroom with double ended bath with central taps and handheld shower, hand basin, WC and heated towel rail.

Outside:

Large patio surrounds the cottage, equipped with garden table and chairs and stunning sea views. Terraces lead down to a lower patio area with a Spanish style barbecue. Borders planted with shrubs  and sub tropical plants.

Parking:

Allocated private space for one car. A 150 meter path which is quite steep in places and with steps, leads up through National Trust woodland behind the cottage to the parking area. Please Note: There is no vehicle access to the house itself.

• Local Facilities: Polperro beach 5 minutes walk. Talland beach 1 mile. Other south coast beaches are easily accessible by car. Shops, pubs and restaurants all in Polperro. Looe with more facilities, 4 miles. Plymouth 25 miles. Truro 29 miles.

Please Note: Owing to the elevated location of the property we would consider it more suitable for the able bodied. Toddlers must be supervised.
