Thyme Cottage is a Georgian gem tucked down a tiny side alley off the main shopping street of Kingsbridge, the bustling hub of the South Hams. The cottage benefits from a most attractive garden with an unusual covered al fresco dining area and built-in barbecue. With charming, spacious and most comfortable rooms situated in the centre of town, it is within walking distance of all the amenities that the delightful market town of Kingsbridge has to offer with an excellent selection of shops, restaurants, pubs, an outdoor market, a Sports and Leisure Centre with large indoor pool, squash courts and gym and the picturesque quayside of the Kingsbridge/Salcombe estuary. At the nearby quayside you can hop on a ferry that will take you on a relaxing cruise around the creeks or follow the estuary all the way to Salcombe. From Kingsbridge you are spoilt for choice of places to visit, little hamlets and villages scattered across the surrounding countryside or take the beautiful scenic coastal road to neighbouring Dartmouth, famous for its sailing and naval history. Perhaps more importantly for some are the fantastic cliffs and golden beaches that make this part of the South Hams such a perfect holiday destination.

Accommodation:
A gated path leads to the front door that opens to the hallway with hooks for coats. Spacious, bright and attractive sitting room featuring large sash windows with shutters, a window seat, large comfortable sofa and two chairs, an alcove supplied with books, TV with DVD, radio, CD/cassette player and a wood burning stove. French doors lead out to the garden. The spacious kitchen diner has an original slate floor, a fine gas fired Nobel range cooker (similar to an Aga), dining table to seat 6, electric hob and oven, fridge freezer, an extra twin gas hob, microwave oven, dishwasher and butler’s sink. A washing machine is in an outhouse with undercover lines for drying. Stairs, which are divided at the top (care needs to be taken here), to the bedrooms. Large double bedroom with decorative Victorian fireplace, 5ft double bed, fitted glazed wardrobe and door to the large en-suite shower room with generous shower enclosure, hand basin, WC and a second door that opens to the landing adjacent to the second bedroom. Twin bedroom with two 3ft beds, plus a 2ft 6in single bed (on request), canvas wardrobe and chest of drawers.
Outside:
From the main street a narrow side alley leads to a gate and path that extends along the front of the house and on to the garden. Outhouse with washing machine and WC. Attractive open sided covered barbecue area with built-in brick barbecue, seating and a paved area alongside with table and chairs. Pretty, very private mature enclosed garden arranged in two areas with shrubs and trees bordering two small lawns.
Parking: Loading bays and also 1 hour parking on Fore Street for unloading luggage. Designated parking place in Derby road, 8 minutes walk from the property.
