Playwright Mark O'Halloran adapts his own stage play for the screen, exploring the aftershock of grief through the eyes of a family man. Colm (Tom Vaughn-Lawlor) retreats from his wife Claire (Monica Dolan) following the death of his alcoholic father. He is also emotionally distant from his teenage son Shane (Scott Graham) but finds some small scraps of solace in the company of his daughter Kerry (Sophie Jo Wasson). Wallowing in misery, Colm sparks a dangerous affair with a male escort called Jay (Tom Glynn-Carney), who will happily blackmail a client to line his pockets. Their passionate encounters provide Colm with an outlet for his turbulent emotions and reinvigorate the husband and father.
