Elvis: That's the Way It Is
When the king of rock 'n' roll, Elvis Presley, died on August 16, 1977 from cardiac arrhythmia, the whole world mourned. His passing signalled the end of one of the most glittering musical careers. Denis Sanders's fascinating documentary charts the making of Presley's 1968 television comeback show, including footage from several rehearsals and The King in action on stage. During the rehearsals, we see Elvis cracking jokes with his resident band, and perfecting the musical arrangements. The excerpts from the actual television show prove all the practice and hard work were worth it. The main feature is followed by footage from his Las Vegas concerts.
