The Whistleblower
The truth comes at a price in writer-director Xue Xiaolu's thriller, which is shot in Mandarin and English. Chinese expatriate Zhou Siliang (Tang Wei) works for a mining company in Australia and is dedicated to her role and the firm's interests. Following a fatal accident which makes headlines, Zhou discovers troubling evidence that the company's latest technology could pose a serious health risk. She resolves to uncover the truth and stumbles into a tangled web of conspiracies that implicates many high-ranking employees. Zhou faces a moral dilemma: by disclosing her findings, she will make herself a wanted woman.
