Animated band mates 2-D, Murdoc Niccals, Noodle and Russel Hobbs - the creations of Blur front man Damon Albarn and artist Jamie Hewlett - have been conjuring an infectious blend of electro-pop, rock, dance and hip hop since the band's formation in 1998. In this revealing documentary, filmmaker Denholm Hewlett follows Gorillaz's every move over the course of three years when the group embarks on a world tour and makes two critically acclaimed albums including the LP Humanz, which boasts contributions from Grace Jones, De La Soul and Rag'N'Bone Man.
