The Biggest Little Farm
In 2011, husband and wife John and Molly Chester left Los Angeles to pursue their dream of running a traditional foods farm. They moved 40 miles north of the city to establish Apricot Lane Farms on 200 acres of barren farmland. Over the course of eight years, this documentary directed by John follows the Chesters as they create a well-balanced eco-system capable of producing nutrient-dense foods in harmony with nature with the environment and local wildlife. The film chronicles the couple's successes as they nurture Biodynamic Certified avocado and lemon orchards, a vegetable garden, pastures and over 75 varieties of stone fruit plus oversee resident animals including chickens, ducks, goats, guinea hens, Highland cattle, horses, pigs, sheep and a brown Swiss dairy cow named Maggie.
