Corpus Christi
A wayward young man's dream helps a broken community to heal in a Polish drama directed by Jan Komasa. Twenty-year-old Daniel (Bartosz Bielenia) atones for his sins in a youth detention centre where he experiences a profound spiritual awakening. He becomes convinced that the priesthood is his calling but a criminal record prevents Daniel from applying to a seminary to fulfil his destiny. When he is granted parole, Daniel secures work at a carpenter's workshop in a small town scarred by tragedy, where no one knows about his inglorious past. He decides to dress as a priest and inadvertently seizes control of ministering to the local parish. Daniel's energetic sermons are the balm the community needs to heal its wounds.
