The Sky Is Pink
Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Farhan Akhtar play self-sacrificing parents, who will do anything to save their child from harm, in director Shonali Bose's dramatisation of an emotionally wrought true story. Niren Chaudhary (Akhtar) and his wife Aditya (Chopra Jonas) are devastated when they lose their first daughter to pulmonary fibrosis. Despair turns to joy when the couple conceives but the Chaudharys face agonising choices when they discover their newborn daughter suffers from the same condition. The family travels to Great Ormond Street hospital in London to give little Aisha a fighting chance of survival. Thankfully, the treatment is successful and the Chaudharys move back home. Many years later, fate delivers a cruel blow and Aisha (now played by Zaira Wasim) draws strength from her parents and brother Ishaan (Rohit Suresh Saraf).
