Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, stand-up comedian and magician John Edward Szeles perfected his act under the enigmatic stage name The Amazing Johnathan, playing various residencies in Las Vegas. In November 2014, following the diagnosis of a serious heart condition, he announced he only had one year to live and would be retiring to spend his remaining days with wife Anastasia Synn. Years later, The Amazing Johnathan is still alive and documentary filmmaker Ben Berman joins the magician on the comeback trail. During this remarkable journey, The Amazing Johnathan drops a bombshell which forces the documentary to change course and contemplate the murky ethics of collaborative film-making.
