Pilsudski

Michael Rosa writes and directs a Polish biographical drama set at the turn of the 20th century. In 1901, political prisoner Jozef Pilsudski (Borys Szyc) languishes in a psychiatric hospital in the Russian partition. Members of the underground independence movement help Pilsudski to escape so he can lead them against the conservative members of the Polish Socialist Party. In his pursuit of an independent Poland, Pilsudski rallies his troops to carry out bombings and the assassination of tsarist officials and top officers. Away from the battlefield, his heart is torn between two women: his wife Maria (Magdalena Boczarska) and his lover Aleksandra Szczerbinska (Maria Debska).
